Upcoming photography exhibition in Brighton

Brighton on Brighton photography gallery at Juice 107.2

In the space of less than a week, Greg Neate has arranged a music photography gallery featuring 5 other local photographers at the offices of Juice 107.2. Bringing together the city’s most enthusiastic contributors of music photography to the photo sharing website, Flickr, the gallery aims to show Brighton music as seen by Brighton photographers.

With his imposing figure, shaven head and long beard, Mike Burnell may look like a bouncer but instead you’ll find him at the front of your next gig standing next with his camera pointed at the band. He has a close association with the Maccabees and regularly contributes to the Argus, and Artrocker magazine. Andy Parker, aka the Avangelist, has a passion for capturing the heavier things in life, as usually seen at the Freebutt, and brings the same DIY punk ethic to his photography. Nikki Acott previously performed in Made of Wool and her access to the Brighton noise network is seen in her photographs from Colour Out of Space, the UK’s premier noise festival. Veronika Moore has photographs from The Silent Disco and the Great Escape on display. David Stock does regular promo and live work for unsigned bands and is currently offering a free photoshoot for any band willing to make creative use of four white boiler suits.

The gallery is open to the public for one day only on Saturday, November 8th from 10 am to 6 pm at Juice 107.2 on 170 North Street. Visitors to the gallery are encouraged to bring a photograph of their own of music in Brighton to add to a one-off collage to be put together on the day.
