We are pleased to announce our new exhibition, “Eat Well, Stay Fit and Die Anyway” in which we present the work of Matt Martin. Running on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th October extended to include Sunday 31sy Oct we are pretty sure you won’t have seen another expo like this in Brighton in a month that is swamped with varied work all over this city. So come and join us and step into the world of Matt Martin as he embarks on his USA roadtrip.

In a solo exhibition of one of Brighton’s most arresting up and coming photographers Matt Martin, ‘Hello Misfits’ charts the two month Journey from Baltimore to Miami, driven by his main subject and fellow photographer Alex Wein. His work combines an intoxicatingly heady mix of raw uncompromising images drawn from chance encounters with his subjects.
What is striking about his images is his ability to capture the essence of each moment, one second in a series of a thousand that somehow manages to tell a story with endless outcomes. In each image you get the inescapable feeling of an extension of time, a snapshot of the whole story. You find yourself a co-conspirator in the lives he momentarily inhabits, filling in the gaps.
A graduate of Lens Based Media at Exeter College, Matt has since thrown himself into the world of photography with a passion and dedication to producing work that has seen him establish 5 self published zines, and the website “we are lucky” which ranked in the top 10 photography blogs on Dazed Digital. His work has also been published in Journal Magazine, Time Out, Dazed, Tiny Vices and many more. Now a fully-fledged inhabitant of Brighton, he works as a photographer for Spindle Magazine, and assists at Garage Studios.
