Fixed Gear and Tights shoot

A new editorial by Kevin Mason, featuring the wonderful Tess Dimos, a bunch of Fixed Gear and single speed bikes, and some great new tights by Henry Holland for Pretty Polly.

Tess Dimos- On a Fixed Gear, in Henry Holland tights.
The lighting here is a mix of 2 direct heads and 2 bounced lights, all pretty much at full power (technical I know…) this allowed the model to move around, ride the bikes and still be fairly evenly exposed, and therefore create a quick, spontaneous shoot. The 2 direct lights meant that the more static shots pinned her to the wall a little more, whilst the gridded light, lifted the detail in her face. The gelled light next to it, threw a little warmth into the set-up. This also adds a nice double shadow, which breaks up the wall behind her.
The make-up was very simple and nude, with a nude lip as well. The blue dye was a spray-in by Emma Hedges to match the blue bike, and add a slight 90′s Bike Courier look to the shoot.
